1983
Untitled
Size: 29-3/4 x 22
Material: Tempera on paper
In mid-1983 I contracted “artist’s block”. Being unsure of where to head next, I some bought large jars of tempera paints, which allowed me to experiment without using expensive materials. This image has always stuck with me, and has been re-used in a recent painting.
1984
The Cyclic Cynic Saw
Size: 23 x 22-1/4
Material: Ink & Zip-A-Tone on paper
In 1984 I went back to doing some cartoons. About this time, while sheets of lettering were still available, the sheets of patterns started to become unavailable. The image has been digitally edited to remove the yellowing from the Zip-A-Tone adhesive.
1984
Untitled
Size: 19-1/2 x 22 x 6-1/2
Material:Gouache on paper & wood
At this time, I also started playing with the third dimension. The first pieces I made used paper and modelmakers wood stock that could be processed with a X-Acto miter saw. It was also at this time I started acquiring some power tools.
